The project, led by Plan International and co-funded by Plan and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, aimed to revitalise agricultural activity and strengthen the productive potential of women and young people in Chalatenango, El Salvador. It promoted agroecological solutions powered by renewable energy and the implementation of measures for disaster risk prevention and climate change mitigation.
Eneris helped the Foundation Energía sin Fronteras (ESF), a member of the project consortium, to fulfil its technical assistance mandate, focused on the analysis, identification and design of renewable energy solutions for productive activities. Specifically, Eneris coordinated ESF’s technical assistance to the local project team and communities for the design, implementation and use of solar water pumping and food drying systems, ensuring that the technical, economic and social conditions required for the long-term viability of these infrastructures were met.
In 2023, this project was replicated in the department of Cuscatlán with funds from the Andalusian Agency for International Development Cooperation.
