Eneris provided technical leadership for the two sister projects titled “Energy, Ecodevelopment and Resilience in Africa (EERA)” and “Processing Information for Energy Policies Conducive to Ecodevelopment (TIPEE)” implemented by HELIO-International in Africa.
EERA aimed to identify the conditions for a “Smart Energy Path” that meets populations’ energy needs while strengthening resilience to climate change and promoting low-carbon economic development. It also sought to build the capacity of national experts to define the strategic steps of such a pathway by consolidating available knowledge and skills and to support the development of bankable sustainable energy projects.
The TIPEE methodology is based on 24 multidimensional indicators designed to evaluate how effectively a country’s national energy policies contribute to sustainable and equitable development under changing climate conditions. Its implementation was preceded by an assessment of the Energy Information System of each targeted country.
Both projects engaged government ministries, local energy practitioners, and civil society representatives to enhance participatory governance and build long-term national capacity in energy and climate policies.
